A Kid’s Dream Vacation
It’s always an exciting moment when families arrive at the 4UR Ranch — car doors open, kids jump out, and the exploring begins within the safety and seclusion of the property. We’ve been welcoming families for over 140 years, and today we welcome the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of those who first arrived so long ago. That history has shaped our weekly children’s program, designed to provide hours of fun while building new skills, confidence, and friendships.
Toddlers to Age 4
Our Midge Program is for toddlers who are walking and out of diapers, up to age 4 — an active program available most mornings during the week. We’ve aligned it with our Wooley Buggers schedule, giving parents time for an adult horseback ride, fishing trip, or quiet dinner, knowing their little ones are having fun and well cared for. Midges enjoy the wonder of the ranch, from meeting our barn animals to nature hikes and pony rides.
Ages 5-12
The Woolly Buggers Kid’s Program is a supervised program for children ages five to twelve, with activities scheduled 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm daily.
There’s nothing like watching your kids saddle up, gain confidence in the arena, and head out onto the trails. Each is paired with a horse they’ll ride every day of the program, and our experienced wranglers work hands-on with all skill levels, from first-timers to seasoned riders. Kids wanting deeper instruction can join our Junior Wrangler program for one-on-one time with wranglers. It all culminates Thursday mornings at the “Kids Rodeo,” with barrel racing, goat-tail ribbon pulling, pie-eating, Junior Wrangler graduation, and a few rodeo clowns.
The Kid’s Program also offers a one-of-a-kind archery course, hiking, pool time, and fort building. Monday and Wednesday evenings, the Wooly Buggers and Midges take a hayride down to pasture for a campfire dinner — hotdogs, s’mores, capture the flag, and tons of fun.
Teens
For teenagers, we invite them to take a break from schedules, school, homework, sports, and summer jobs, and just relax — the ranch is theirs to explore. Ranch bikes, hiking trails, swimming, horseback riding, fishing, or a soak in the hot springs give them the chance to experience the great outdoors and recharge. Whether they’re on a guided hike, learning about horses with the wranglers, or unwinding by the pool, their days will be filled with memorable adventures.
