A Family Dude Ranch with Gourmet Food
We were so lucky when we found Wray Warner. He is the head chef over at the 4UR, and makes mealtime a real event at our Colorado Dude Ranch. He came to us from the Four Seasons in Jackson Hole. One thing we love about Wray is that he doesn’t shirk from a challenge. He seems equally as comfortable creating well-presented gourmet meals in our dining room as he does while he grills 30 steaks and just as many hot dogs in the middle of the valley for steak ride. That’s what we were looking for: a chef that was versatile and up to the challenge of making dining a memorable part of our guests’ Rocky Mountain Vacation.
Folks are always impressed with his creative ice creams, made here at the ranch. Some of my favorites include mojito, margarita and cinnamon.
Delicious soups and meat entrees are offered daily. Tempting menu items include fresh salads, herb crusted halibut, wild mushroom pastas and butternut squash ravioli.
Wray also has a name that matches our ranch’s name, 4UR. The name comes from the little valley where Goose Creek meets the Rio Grande. It is called Wagon Wheel Gap. If you look at the first two letters, the W’s on Wagon and Wheel, you can see they made 4 U’s. Hence “4UR Ranch”. Well, it just happens that Wray Warner also has “4 U’s” in his name! We knew he must be a perfect fit, and he is! His meals never fail to fortify our guests for a full day on their Horseback Riding Vacations.
