“For our family the 4UR Ranch is much more than a guest ranch tucked into the scenic mountains along the banks of the Rio Grande River. The 4UR is our family oasis for one week each summer where we all gather from our scattered locations across the country. It has been our little slice of heaven since we first visited in 1998. It is where we all put down our phones and devices and pick up a fly rod, a book, or go for a daylong horseback ride. It is a place where countless memories have been made over the many summer visits. It is a place that our now grown children, still insist, is their favorite vacation…ever. We joke that once we check into the ranch on a Sunday afternoon, there is no reason to leave the ranch until the following sad Saturday when it is time to go home. We only have to decide how to spend the day ahead; do we don waders, a swimsuit, hiking boots or a cowboy hat. The 4UR Ranch is truly a magical experience.”
“The 4UR Ranch has created special memories for our family. After our first visit 12 years ago, we rebooked for the next year and have continued each year since. Our 3 children had a blast in the kids program in the first few years and have since developed a passion for the 4UR’s fishing, riding, shooting and hiking. The Ranch has miles of great trout water to fish right on the property. The scenery is stunning, the meals are excellent and the service is top notch. It’s not surprising that the 4UR has a high level of repeat guests. The 4UR is a home away from home!”
“My partner and I spent a week at the 4UR Ranch. Both keen horse riders we booked primarily for the riding but ended up enjoying all the activities on offer. The staff was friendly and helpful and food was high quality. The standard of the horses was the best we have experienced and a special mention to the wranglers who chose the horse before we arrived on the information given. They kept us safe whilst enjoying the best riding and scenery ever. We made a lot of new friends and the memories will live with us forever. Thank you all for the experience we will be back.”
“We had a fantastic time at the Ranch, the food and service was outstanding and we made many new friends. All the staff were excellent but a special mention goes to the wranglers and fishing guides who introduced me to fly fishing with lots of laughs thrown in. Both Sue and I chose the ranch for the horse riding as we ride at home, and were blown away with the quality and standard of the horses, both Dolce and the speed demon Chocolate deserve a special mention. Hopefully you will have us back next year.”

I’ve been coming to the 4UR for the past 30 years and consider it one of my favorite weeks of the year. “Far and away one of the most incredible guest ranch experiences in an absolutely stunning hidden valley in a secret corner of Colorado. Don’t think “dude ranch.” Think pampered luxury vacation. Fantastic fly-fishing (it is a private tail-water, which is extremely rare). A great horsemanship program. Natural hot springs for soaking (the Utes called this valley “Little Medicine”). Interesting history. A first-class destination in every way; lodging, dining, activities, staff. In my opinion, the very best guest ranch vacation in all of the Rocky Mountains.”
“I’ve been coming to the 4UR every summer since I was a toddler. My father and grandmother taught me how to fish on Goose Creek, which is a very special private tail-water stream full of wild trout. I also learned how to ride horses at the 4UR. The ranch is surrounded by pristine and secluded national forest trails, which you can explore with the very knowledgeable 4UR wranglers at any pace you’re comfortable with. They’ll teach you how to lope across beautiful montane meadows if you want! The 4UR has something for everyone—incredible views, nice people, amazing fishing, riding, and hiking, and exceptional food. If you have the chance to spend some time here, do it!!!”
