The Lone Ranger TV show starring Clayton Moore was also a hit, running for nearly ten years and creating spin-offs such as comic books and movies. The Lone Ranger In Creede, CO
The fame of the Lone Ranger continues to be renewed by re-releases of the original radio and televisions shows as well as movies, comics, toys and other Lone Ranger memorabilia. And now Walt Disney Pictures has a new Lone Ranger movie starring Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger. There was a lot of excitement for all of us locally since some of the filming was done in very own town of Creede, CO this past June. The dramatic mountains and broad valleys of our area have just the right Old West feel for the movie.

Local folks enjoyed the chance to get into some of the Lone Ranger movie action. Johnny Depp spent time in Creede meeting fans and signing autographs. There were also open casting calls for the movie, with priority given to local people from Creede and the San Luis Valley in general. When you see the movie, if you’ve ever had the chance to meet the friendly people of Creede, keep an eye out for some familiar faces in the scenes with cavalry and townsfolk.

The Lone Ranger Comes to 4UR!
Well…one of the actresses did! We had the pleasure of hosting one of the actresses from the new Lone Ranger movie at our Colorado dude ranch. She relaxed on horseback and in our hot springs pool. Her parents even came out to join her for a few days. She was a very sweet, down-to-earth person. You’d never know she was famous. It was really an honor to have her stay with us.

We’re all looking forward to seeing the movie when it’s released during summer of 2013.
